Our vision

We believe that people everywhere in the world should be able to lead a good and healthy life. Vulnerable people in the final stages of their life also have the right to basic needs and hygienic living conditions. In our view, assistance to this group should be organized with compassion, reliability, locally, and transparently.

Our mission

We want to contribute to the improved physical and mental well-being of the elderly in the Yogyakarta province. We are familiar with the region and have a local network through our partner foundation, Ayom Peduli. Our goal is to create a basic living environment for older people who can no longer do so themselves.

Your contribution

We place great value on transparency in the aid we provide with your contribution. With our local staff, we organize the aid ourselves. This allows us to guarantee that 100% of your contribution goes directly to those in need.

Our policy plan

Structure
The Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation is a Dutch foundation that works in collaboration with the Indonesian foundation, Ayom Peduli, to take care of the mission and vision described below. This division of roles is intentionally chosen for efficiency and effectiveness. Coordinating activities in Indonesia from the Netherlands is challenging. Furthermore, Indonesian legislation complicates the establishment of a foundation with foreign founders. On the other hand, an Indonesian foundation would struggle to receive donations from abroad, particularly from the Netherlands, considering the current scale of the initiative. The Ayom Peduli foundation has now been fully established in Indonesia. This foundation consists of five Indonesian board members and executives, meeting the requirements of Indonesian law. Due to the close relationship between the existing Indonesian foundation and the Dutch foundation to be established, an agreement has been made between the board of Ayom Peduli and the actual Dutch founders, Alex de la Fosse and Ivo Motshagen. This agreement dictates that the frameworks and methods of operation from the Netherlands, of course in consultation with local experts in Indonesia, are established for Ayom Peduli. Additionally, the fact that financing will primarily be from the Netherlands means that sufficient influence from the Netherlands is necessary to ensure the correct, efficient, and effective allocation of the donations. The mentioned agreement and the working arrangements provide sufficient assurance in this regard.

Mission of Ayom Peduli Foundation (Indonesia) and Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation (Netherlands)

We place great value on 'social value,' both regarding people and the environment. We believe that people everywhere in the world should be able to lead good, healthy lives, and we are disturbed that many people cannot achieve this due to circumstances beyond their control. The most vulnerable deserve support to achieve this for themselves. We do our best to help with that. We also expect everyone who collaborates with us to have the same attitude and show the same respect for everyone in society. Passionate, compassionate, kind, polite, and clear.

Vision of Ayom Peduli (Indonesia) and Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation (Netherlands)

We assist elderly individuals who are unable to create a basic living environment for themselves. This living environment pertains to their personal physical and mental health, their shelter, and their immediate surroundings, insofar as these impact their well-being.

Furthermore, we assist the families involved with their personal development so that they can ultimately take responsibility for obtaining the basic necessities of life themselves.

We realize that not everyone can be helped, but we do our best to do as much as possible to achieve our goal. In doing so, we choose a step-by-step approach concerning the environment, the number of people, and the complexity, aiming to provide customized assistance to all the people we help.

Our starting point is the province of Yogyakarta in Indonesia due to the family connections there. By establishing a foundation, we aim to provide the assistance mentioned above.

Strategie Stichting Indonesiƫ

Home Visits
Conducting home visits to assess the situation of individuals. Home visits are initiated by foundation staff but can also be based on recommendations from third parties or invitations from the individuals to be visited.

Follow-up
ActionsFollow-up actions based on the findings from the home visit. These actions can relate to personal well-being (care, food, medication, attention) as well as residential aspects (housing adjustments, furnishings).

Events
Organizing events focused on the well-being of groups of people. This can include entertainment events as well as educational sessions on specific topics.

Organization.
The employees to be engaged must be adequately informed about the possibilities offered for each activity. However, it is not the intention to pre-determine which actions will or will not be carried out; this will be decided on a case-by-case basis. These employees must be critical regarding the home visits and any follow-up actions resulting from them. A guideline for this will be established at a later stage.

Finance

Income
The activities of Ayom Peduli in Indonesia and the Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation in the Netherlands are funded from the Netherlands. The Dutch foundation will undertake activities to obtain one-time and/or recurring donations from individuals and companies. Companies are offered packages to demonstrate their social responsibility (see the attachment for different packages). We are pleased to announce that the Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation received the ANBI status, making donations tax-deductible. To meet the necessary tax requirements, an accountant has been hired. Ensuring good financial accountability is a priority for the Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation.
In addition to donations, the Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation will also seek to obtain available grants from the government, lotteries, charitable foundations, and other relevant organizations.

Asset Management
The Yogya Fundamental Needs Foundation ensures that the received donations are transferred to the Ayom Peduli Foundation at least four times a year. Donations are transferred in full, with the only deduction being the bank fees for international transfers. Ayom Peduli uses these donations to cover all costs necessary to provide the elderly with basic living necessities.
